Battlefield 2042 is set to release later today, but some people have already been able to access the game’s Hazard Zone information. This has caused a lot of controversy among fans of the series.
Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone is a free to play game that is set to release on December 14th. The game has been leaking information ahead of its release, and EA has stated that they will be releasing the official patch today.
Prior to today’s formal presentation, information regarding Battlefield 2042’s Hazard Zone mode has surfaced, indicating that it would concentrate on locating and retrieving data drives rather than just killing opponents.
The Hazard Zone video for Battlefield 2042 will be shown today at 4 p.m. BST, coinciding with the release of the Zombies teaser for Call of Duty: Vanguard, providing us a clear image of the game’s third and final playable mode.
DualShockers’ Tom Henderson revealed the information on Twitter, claiming that the mode would concentrate on four-player teams charged with retrieving data disks. Players will face off against each other and AI in order to defend these hard drives, but the sole benefit of killing someone is access to their loadout.
While players may be downed and resurrected, squads cannot have multiple Specialists. If a player is slain, teammates must locate Reinforcement Uplinks located across the map in order to bring that player back into the battle.
According to Henderson, each map has two extraction chances, implying that only two teams may win. The ultimate objective is to extract as many data drives as possible, which might be accomplished without harming anybody.
Extracted drivers earn Dark Market Credits, a Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone style currency that may be used to buy equipment during subsequent battles.
Henderson further says that if the mode doesn’t “take off,” it will be changed into a regular battle royale mode.
The Hazard Zone feature in Battlefield 2042 will be unveiled later today. The game will be released on November 19 for PC, Xbox series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4 consoles.
