The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly considering trading their franchise quarterback, Carson Wentz, after he suffered a torn ACL in Week 14. The team is reportedly looking for a deal that would bring back multiple picks and build the roster around an up-and-coming QB.

The jake fromm draft is a potential move that the Bills could make after the injury to Carson Wentz.

One of the Buffalo Bills’ greatest offseason signings may never make it to the regular season, according to a new report. The team’s most visible backup quarterback could already be on the trade market.

The incident began in Indianapolis, when Colts quarterback Carson Wentz sustained a foot injury that may sideline him for a long time. Wentz is allegedly seeing a foot specialist and may need surgery, which could keep him out until after the season begins. Given the lack of proven depth behind Wentz in Indianapolis, some think the answer may be found at Buffalo Bills training camp.

Backup for the Bills may be on the move.

Backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky, according to Nick Wojton of USA Today’s Bills Wire, might be an appealing alternative for the Colts if Wentz is forced to miss any substantial time. Trubisky is one of the most experienced second-string quarterbacks in the NFL, having spent time as the starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears. The Bills are unlikely to get a big return, according to Wojton, with anything in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft likely off the table.

“What a deal would depend on is whether the Colts are willing to give up anything like a fourth-round pick,” he said. “According to Spotrac, such a pick would have good value, and the Bills would be liable for a $2 million dead cap charge if they traded Trubisky.”

Following their playoff defeat to the Bills and the retirement of veteran starter Philip Rivers, the Colts traded for Wentz in the offseason.

Trubisky allegedly turned down better offers to sign with the Bills, with general manager Brandon Beane claiming that the former No. 2 overall selection was sold on the opportunity to work with the same coaching staff that helped Allen develop into an MVP candidate.

“All we told him and his agency was, ‘Come here for a reset.’ Working with Josh Allen and our other quarterbacks, Jake Fromm and Davis Webb, (offensive coordinator) Brian Daboll, and (quarterbacks coach) Ken Dorsey,” Beane said in a SiriusXM NFL radio interview. “Come here, take a year off, and be a part of what we’re doing.”

Bills Reintroduce a Familiar Face

According to Wojton, trading Trubisky would present a new issue for the Bills. With the Bears on the verge of a Super Bowl appearance last season, the former starter was viewed as an insurance policy in case Allen went down with an injury this season, a steady hand who might help keep the club on pace if called upon to start. Trubisky has been impressive so far in training camp.

He said that the Bills have some alternatives in this scenario, pointing out that Matt Barkley, the team’s primary backup the last two seasons, is still a free agent and could easily return. Last year’s fifth-round selection Jake Fromm, who spent the whole season away from the club as a quarantine quarterback in case the squad experienced a COVID-19 breakout, has received little trust from the team. Last year, the league did away with the preseason, so Fromm never had an opportunity to play.
