Sir Elton John is not allowing a hip injury and surgery stop him from making new songs, revealing that he is more than ready to do so.
After receiving a major award, the worldwide legend, 74, claims he is ‘raring to go’ after hip surgery and is more motivated than ever to compose new songs and donate cash for charity.
During a Windsor Castle investiture ceremony, the Prince of Wales appointed Sir Elton a member of the Order of the Companions of Honour, during which he walked with a stick after the painful surgery, but the Tiny Dancer singer was in excellent spirits.
‘I may not look 100 percent fit – I’m not quite – but I’m still raring to go and I’ve got a lot more work to do in terms of my life,’ Sir Elton remarked during the event.
Sir Elton John accepted the prize and reminisced on his record-breaking career, which has seen him deliver a hit song in every decade since the 1970s and sell over 300 million records worldwide.
‘I’ve had a fantastic life, music has been my life, and I received this [award] for music and for charitable work,’ Sir Elton remarked.

‘So this is simply a reminder that there’s more to do,’ he continued. More work for music, more work for charity, and life is wonderful – I’m very fortunate.’
The Order of the Companions of Honour is one of the greatest honors a person may get, and it was founded by George V in 1917 in acknowledgment of national service.
Sir David Attenborough, actress Dame Judi Dench, and Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney are among the past recipients of the Order of the Companions of Honour.
Sir Elton was given the honor in honour of his contributions to music as well as his work with the Elton John Aids Foundation.

The Rocketman actor established the organization in 1992 to advocate for action on HIV/AIDS, which continues to take hundreds of thousands of lives each year, as well as to urge people to get tested.
In addition to his great philanthropic efforts, Sir Elton continues to produce major hits, most notably with his song Cold Heart with Dua Lipa, which reached number one.
The singer-songwriter has continued to collaborate with new artists, most recently collaborating with Ed Sheeran on three new Christmas songs, the first of which, Merry Christmas, will be published in early December.
‘I used to manage Ed for the first three albums and we’ve always been wonderful friends, we’ve always been close,’ Sir Elton remarked of his friendship with the Shape Of You chart-topper.
‘I offer him advise, and he gives me advice; it’s simply a wonderful relationship,’ she says.

Fans will be relieved to learn that Sir Elton John is still ‘raring to go’ after his surgery, as the artist is currently on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour – The Final Tour, which was originally scheduled for 2018 but had to be postponed because to the Covid-19 outbreak.
The tour will resume in January 2022 in the United States, with Sir Elton due to perform a slew of performances in the United Kingdom beginning in June of that year.
