The story of a father who was hit by an SUV and had to be rescued from his car seat. How the man survived is nothing short of miraculous, but what made him survive?
The “don’t take life too seriously nobody makes it out alive sign” is a quote from the movie “I Don’t Know How He Came Out of It Alive.” The quote is to remind people that they should not take life too seriously.
After winning the National Championship in 1982, Michael Jordan and James Worthy had a strong bond as teammates at UNC. Despite the fact that Jordan and Worthy were teammates on the Chicago Bulls and the Los Angeles Lakers, the two Hall of Famers remained friends in the NBA.
Worthy was one of the few non-Bulls players to take part in ESPN’s docuseries The Last Dance. Jordan going up against the “Bad Boy” Detroit Pistons in Episode 3 of the docuseries, Big Game James confessed he was surprised MJ didn’t get gravely harmed.
Michael Jordan survived the “Bad Boy” Pistons, according to James Worthy.
To prevent His Airness from scoring, the Pistons devised the “Jordan Rules.” They wanted Jordan to move left instead of right, and they didn’t want him to go baseline. Superman was also trapped every time he grabbed the ball in the post by the Pistons, who knocked him to the ground as he went into the paint.
In The Last Dance, Worthy, who faced the Pistons twice in the NBA Finals, stated he couldn’t believe Jordan survived the beatings he received from the “Bad Boys.”
“Just for Michael, Detroit established Jordan Rules,” Worthy remarked. “I’m not sure how he made it out alive.”
The Pistons defeated the Bulls in the playoffs in 1988, 1989, and 1990. Jordan and his colleagues were brutally abused by the Detroit Pistons, and the Bulls lacked the mental and physical tenacity to overcome Isiah Thomas and his teammates.
In the summer of 1990, however, everything changed.

Instead of leaving on vacation after the Bulls lost Game 7 of the 1990 Eastern Conference Finals to the Pistons, the Chicago players showed up to the practice facility and began working out. Jordan, who had never done any strength training before, began doing so in the summer of 1990 in order to fight back against the Pistons.
Jordan says in The Last Dance, “I was being severely beaten up.” “I also want to deliver suffering.” “I’m ready to fight back.”
With the aid of renowned trainer Tim Grover, Jordan gained over 15 pounds of muscle. The All-Star shooting guard was poised to smash the Pistons at the start of the 1990-91 season, and the Bulls had placed their opponents in the rearview mirror.

In the 1991 Eastern Conference Finals, the Bulls and Pistons faced off, and Chicago controlled the series from tip to end. In the four-game sweep, Jordan averaged 29.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 7.0 assists, ultimately defeating Thomas, a Chicago native who had Air Jordan’s number.
Jordan and his teammates were completely unresponsive to any of the Pistons’ dirty fouls. Dennis Rodman slammed Scottie Pippen to the ground and attempted to injure him on a drive to the rim in the fourth quarter of Game 4. Jordan was pleased of Pippen for not retaliating, and Pippen was proud of Jordan.
“There was nothing they could do to defeat us when Pippen didn’t react to that abuse,” Jordan says in The Last Dance.
The Bulls played Worthy and the Lakers in the 1991 Finals after sweeping the Pistons. Jordan led Chicago to a five-game series victory with 31.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 11.4 assists per game. It was the franchise’s first title and the start of a dynasty for the Bulls. Jordan, ironically, won his first championship against Worthy, one of his closest NBA pals.
