What to look out for: Will the Colts’ defense be able to stop Derrick Henry of the Titans? In four consecutive games against the Colts, the greatest running back in the NFL has rushed for at least 100 yards, averaging 135.5 yards per game and four touchdowns — including 113 yards on the ground against Indianapolis earlier this season. More significantly, in that four-game stretch, the Titans are 3-1 versus the Colts. Mike Wells’ remark
Despite the return of Colts guard Quenton Nelson, I anticipate that the Titans will sack Indianapolis quarterback Carson Wentz four times. The Titans’ defensive front has rediscovered its mojo in the last two weeks, due in part to a package that includes former Colt Denico Autry and Bud Dupree on the outside and Jeffery Simmons and Harold Landry on the inside. In the last two weeks, Tennessee has racked up seven sacks. Turron Davenport (Turron Davenport)
For the first time in his career, Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor had back-to-back 100-yard rushing games. Since Edgerrin James’ five-game streak in 2005, no Colts player has topped 100 in three successive games.
Titans against. Colts: Injuries
What you should know for fantasy football: Henry is on track for 464 carries, 869 running yards, and a chance to establish a career best for catches in a season this weekend. Check out the Week 8 rankings.
Indy has covered four consecutive games, but Tennessee is 4-0 against teams who reached the playoffs last season, both outright and against the spread (ATS). Continue reading to learn more.
Titans 31, Colts 27 is Davenport’s prediction. Titans 27, Colts 23 is Wells’ prediction. IND, 53.6 percent, according to FPI (by an average of 1.3 points)
Matchup must-reads: The Titans’ Tannehill-Brown relationship has heated up… Pittman Jr., with his ‘beast attitude,’ snatched the No. 1 WR spot from the Colts.
1 p.m. ET | CBS Matchup rating: 53.4 | BUF -14 spread (48.5)
What to look for: Will the Bills’ defense put up another strong showing against the Dolphins, or will the Dolphins’ offense rally behind quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and put up a stronger fight in Buffalo? The Bills kept the Dolphins scoreless in Week 2 of the AFC East rivalry, but Tagovailoa was injured and had to leave the game. During a six-game losing run, the Dolphins have struggled as a unit, but Tagovailoa has been excellent in his last two starts. Can the Dolphins keep things close against the No. 1 defense in multiple categories? Alaina Getzenberg is a writer who lives in New York City.
The Dolphins have kept three straight opponents under 100 running yards, and they will continue that trend on Sunday. The Bills are now averaging 130.7 yards per game on the ground, but Miami’s strong run defense is expected to continue. — Louis-Jacques Marcel
The Bills have now led at halftime in 15 consecutive games, the longest stretch in NFL history.
1 p.m. ET | CBS Matchup rating: 50.2 | CLE -3.5 point spread (42.5)
What to look out for: How will the Browns’ quarterback situation play out as Baker Mayfield tries to return from the left shoulder injury that forced him to miss Cleveland’s previous game? Mayfield will try to become the first Browns quarterback to beat Pittsburgh in three consecutive games since Bernie Kosar in the late 1980s if he starts instead of backup Case Keenum. Jake Trotter’s remark

Browns’ running stats will more than double those of the Steelers, according to a bold forecast. Even with their top rushing backs out due to injury, the Browns have the greatest run game in the league and the second-best run defense. The Steelers gave up 104 running yards to Seattle in the second half of their Week 6 victory as missed tackles mounted. With Mayfield’s condition uncertain, the Browns will rely even more on their ground game, which Pittsburgh defensive coach Keith Butler claims can run past arm tackles. Sunday might be a lengthy game if the Steelers don’t fix their tackling difficulties from Week 6. On the other hand, the Steelers’ ground game has improved as the offensive line has gelled and Najee Harris has found his stride, but the Browns will be their most difficult test yet. Brooke Pryor is an actress who plays Brooke Pryor.
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has spent just 2.2 seconds in the pocket on average this season, the lowest pace in the NFL. When he has 2.5 seconds or more to pass (second-worst in the NFL), he has a Total QBR of 31.5, and when he has 2.5 seconds or less, he has a Total QBR of 63.3. (19th in the NFL).
Steelers against. Browns: Injuries
What to know in fantasy football: Pittsburgh is coming off a bye week, but Harris was one of just two players in the league to have 15 or more touches in every game from Weeks 1-6. (Derrick Henry). Check out the Week 8 rankings.
The total was under in both of Pittsburgh’s away games this season. In Pittsburgh away games since 2015, the under is 37-12-1. Continue reading to learn more.
Browns 21, Steelers 17 is Pryor’s prediction. Browns 16, Steelers 13 is Trotter’s prediction. CLE has a 52.9 percent chance of winning, according to the FPI (by an average of 1.1 points)
Matchup must-reads: Rookie Norwood is quickly establishing himself as a valuable component of the Steelers’ secondary… Johnson’s journey from a fishing boat to the National Football League… Tomlin puts a stop to rumors that the Steelers are interested in college football opportunities… Mayfield ‘definitely’ might face the Steelers.
1 p.m. ET | 43.6 FOX Matchup Rating | LAR -14.5 Spread (47.5)
What to look out for: Last week, Rams receiver Cooper Kupp became just the sixth wide receiver in NFL history to have at least nine receptions, 125 yards receiving, and two touchdowns in consecutive games. Can he make history by becoming the first receiver to accomplish it three times in a row against a Texans defense that allows 12.6 yards per catch and 29 points per game? Sarah Barshop is a writer.
Speculative prediction: Los Angeles defensive lineman Aaron Donald will have his first multi-sack game of the season, while the secondary will extend its four-game interception run. With an average of 13.6 points per game, the Texans have one of the lowest scoring offenses in the NFL. The Rams’ defense has shown it can be vulnerable to turnovers and sacks, so expect them to step it up a level. Lindsey Thiry (Lindsey Thiry)
Matthew Stafford leads the NFL in Total QBR (78.8) and is second only to Tom Brady in throwing touchdowns with 19 this season. In addition, he is third in throwing yards (2,172) and yards per attempt (7.0). (9.01).
Rams against. Texans: Injuries
What to know for fantasy: Kupp is sixth among qualifiers in fantasy points per catch this season, while Brandin Cooks of the Texans ranks 36th. Check out the Week 8 rankings.

What to look out for: On Sunday, something has to give. The 49ers are coming into Chicago on a four-game losing streak, but the Bears may be in even more turmoil. Chicago is coming off back-to-back defeats to Green Bay and Tampa Bay, and coach Matt Nagy just tested positive for COVID-19. Furthermore, Bears standout pass-rusher Khalil Mack missed all of practice this week due to a foot ailment and is questionable for Week 8 and beyond. Dickerson, Jeff

49ers receiver Mohamed Sanu Sr. will deliver a touchdown pass, according to a bold prediction. The Niners’ offense is in desperate need of a spark, so don’t be surprised if they attempt a few Halloween tricks to break their four-game losing skid. In his career, Sanu has four touchdown passes and is 7-of-8 for 233 yards passing, but he has yet to throw for the 49ers. This week would be an excellent time to make a difference. Nick Wagoner is a writer.
Deebo Samuel of the 49ers has 648 receiving yards in six games, the highest by any 49ers player since Jerry Rice had 662 in 1989.
49ers | Bears Injuries
What you should know for fantasy football: Samuel and Cooper Kupp are the only two players this season with at least three games with a 7-100-1 receiving stat line. Check out the Week 8 rankings.
Chicago games are 6-1 under this season, which is the greatest under % in the NFL. Continue reading to learn more.

Matchup must-reads: Garoppolo is no longer the 49ers’ savior when he returns to Chicago… Nagy: No decision on Mack, who is injured… Even after ‘his worst game,’ Garoppolo is still the starting quarterback… Nagy of the Bears tests positive for COVID-19.
1 p.m. ET | FOX Matchup rating: 27.0 | ATL -3 in the spread (46.5)
What to look out for: Panthers QB Sam Darnold has thrown four consecutive interceptions. Atlanta has intercepted passes in each of its last two games after failing to do so in the first four weeks of the season. When you consider that Carolina has allowed 25 or more points in three of its previous four games and Atlanta has scored 25 or more in four of its last five, the Falcons have a strong case for a big day. Michael Rothstein is a writer and producer.
To set up a huge play-action day for quarterback Matt Ryan, the Falcons will assault with a wide-zone rushing approach — something Carolina has been prone to — and end with a season-high 135 yards on the ground. With that system, Dallas had 245 yards and Minnesota had 198. — Newton, David
Falcons rookie tight end Kyle Pitts has 471 receiving yards in six career games, the highest by a tight end in NFL history. He’s already the first Falcons tight end to have back-to-back 100-yard receiving games, and he’s on his way to being the NFL’s first rookie tight end to have three in a row.
Panthers | Falcons Injuries
What you should know for fantasy football: Atlanta receiver Calvin Ridley is one of four players this season who have at least 2.0 red-zone targets per game (Cooper Kupp, Stefon Diggs and Chris Godwin are the others). Check out the Week 8 rankings.

In a lopsided quarterback showdown, an emerging Cincinnati squad with a No. 1 overall selection (Joe Burrow) meets a faltering New York team with a No. 171 pick (Mike White). The Bengals are coming off a 24-point victory against the Ravens, while the Jets were defeated by the Patriots by 41 points. Do you see what I mean? This might be a knockout in the first round. The Jets have been outscored 44-0 in the first quarter, and White, who is making his first NFL start, is unlikely to alter that. Cimini, Rich

Brandon Allen, the Bengals’ backup quarterback, will toss a touchdown pass. That’s correct. Cincinnati’s No. 2 quarterback should see the field for the third consecutive week, and he’ll toss his second touchdown pass of the season. – Ben Little
The Bengals’ defense is fourth in the NFL in yards per play allowed (5.1), yards per attempt allowed (6.6), and yards per rush allowed (6.6), and sixth in yards per rush allowed (6.6). (3.99).
Bengals | Jets Injuries
What to know for fantasy: A rookie receiver has reached 27.5 fantasy points in a game seven times since the start of last season. In the last three weeks, Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase has done it twice. Check out the Week 8 rankings.
New York has the league’s weakest average cover margin (minus-9.9), and it had the second-worst mark previous season. This season, the Jets are 1-5 ATS as underdogs. Continue reading to learn more.

1 p.m. ET | FOX Matchup rating: 16.4 | PHI -3.5 spread (47.5)
What to look for: Will the Lions earn their first win under new coach Dan Campbell this week? Detroit is coming off a difficult road defeat to the Rams, led by former franchise star Matthew Stafford. They fought hard and even led going into the fourth quarter. Despite their dismal start, the Lions have won three consecutive games versus the Eagles, who are off to their worst seven-game start since Andy Reid’s debut season with the club in 1999. Eric Woodyard’s remark
The Eagles and Lions will tie, according to my bold prediction. Is there a contest that is more primed for a draw? Both teams are in a slump, neither feels worthy of a victory, and it would be in keeping with the season’s tone if either supporter went away disappointed. It’s also something they do. In 2020, the Eagles drew a draw, whereas the Lions had done so the year before. Throughout addition, they have 60 draws between them in their respective histories. Let’s reintroduce the word “bold” to bold forecasts. Tim McManus, Ph.D.
Jalen Hurts, the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, is the only player in the NFL this season with at least 10 throwing touchdowns and five running touchdowns. But he’s had three straight starts in which he’s completed fewer than 60% of his throws, tying Zach Wilson (Weeks 1-3) for the longest stretch of any starting quarterback this season.
Eagles | Lions Injuries
What you should know about fantasy: D’Andre Swift, the Lions’ running back, has more than 10 carries and 50 receiving yards in four games this season. That’s more than any other player’s total. In fact, Alvin Kamara and Austin Ekeler were the only two players in the whole year of 2020 to have at least four such games. Check out the Week 8 rankings.
4:05 p.m. ET | CBS Matchup rating: 60.3 | LAC -5 | Spread: (49.5)
What to look out for: Can Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert rise to the challenge? He’s had a good season so far, but he’ll go up against Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who can trick just about anybody. Last season, the Patriots beat Herbert and the Chargers 45-0, but “this isn’t last year’s squad,” as L.A. running back Austin Ekeler put it. The Patriots are known for their post-snap deception and like to play man defense with two safeties high. Herbert, on the other hand, has more experience this season and will not be taken off guard. Jakobi Meyers, a Patriots receiver, will grab his first touchdown pass in the NFL. He’s appeared in 36 games and has 126 catches but no touchdowns, making him the only player with that combination since the 1970 merger. Although the Chargers are a difficult team to pass against, quarterback Mac Jones and the Patriots’ offense are coming off their most explosive performance of the season. — Reiss, Mike
The Chargers have surrendered the most running yards (162.5) and yards per carry (5.5) in the NFL this season. Their 975 running yards allowed are the highest in the team’s first six games since 1975.
Patriots against. Chargers: Injuries
What you should know about fantasy: Patrick Mahomes (532.2), Lamar Jackson (516), Deshaun Watson (472.9), and Herbert are the only quarterbacks in the last 20 years to earn 460 fantasy points in their first 21 starts (466.9). Check out the Week 8 rankings.
Since 2010, the Patriots have gone 6-0 ATS versus the Chargers, including in the playoffs. Herbert, on the other hand, is 8-2 ATS in his last ten races. Continue reading to learn more.
Patriots 27, Chargers 23 is Reiss’ prediction. Chargers 27, Patriots 21 is Smith’s prediction. LAC, 61.8 percent, according to the FPI (by an average of 4.1 points)
Must-reads for Sunday’s matchup: Patriots praise Henry’s performance as the TE returns to face the Chargers… Ekeler of the Chargers utilizes his tenacious work ethic to pay it forward… Receivers for the Patriots don’t simply catch passes; they also throw them… The Chargers released kicker Vizcaino and signed veteran Hopkins in his place.
SEA -3.5 | 4:05 p.m. ET | CBS Matchup rating: 26.7 (44)
What to look out for: Can the Seahawks maintain their defensive turnaround against Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence? If the progress they’ve made in previous weeks is genuine, they’ll keep it up against the NFL’s 27th-ranked quarterback in terms of QBR on Sunday. And it will make things simpler for Geno Smith, their own quarterback. In three opportunities, Russell Wilson’s replacement has failed to lead a game-winning drive. The best thing the Seahawks can do on Sunday is avoid that situation entirely and put the game away early, but with a backup quarterback, that’s easier said than done. Brady Henderson’s quote
Speculative prediction: Gerald Everett, a tight end for Seattle, will have at least 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. In five games this season, he has 13 receptions for 128 yards and one touchdown, but it wouldn’t be unexpected if he matched those figures on Sunday. The Jaguars have struggled to cover tight ends this season, allowing 78 percent completions and 474 yards and four touchdowns when quarterbacks target tight ends. Mike DiRocco’s remark
On Sunday, Seattle receiver DK Metcalf will play in his 40th game of his career. He ranks second in Seahawks team history with 23 receiving touchdowns, behind only Daryl Turner (25) through 40 games.

What to look for: Saints quarterback Jameis Winston’s first game against his old club will provide drama, but this clash doesn’t need it as these two teams continue their fight for NFC South dominance. The Buccaneers are the favorites, having scarcely missed a beat as Super Bowl winners this year. However, keep in mind that the Saints have won the previous four NFC South championships and swept Tampa Bay in the regular season last year before the Bucs avenged themselves in the playoffs. Triplett, Mike

Winston will throw two interceptions, according to my bold prediction. With just three interceptions this season, he is tied for sixth in the NFL in that category, but his desire to shine against his former club may get the better of him. This season, Tampa Bay is one of four teams with double-digit interceptions (10). Jenna Laine is a writer who lives in New York City.
Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans and Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore will face battle on Sunday, and Lattimore has won this matchup in the past. Since 2019, the two have faced each other 96 times, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. In that period, Evans had just one reception on eight targets, with Lattimore as the closest defender (a 3-yard touchdown).
Buccaneers | Saints Injuries
What you should know about fantasy: In an age where quarterback mobility is almost required, Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been a top-four fantasy option at the position in four of the last six weeks. Check out the Week 8 rankings.
New Orleans has gone 10-2 ATS as an underdog since 2018, while Tampa Bay has gone 0-3 ATS on the road this season. Continue reading to learn more.

What to look out for: The Broncos haven’t led in any of their last three games. Four of the Broncos’ seven opponents have scored a touchdown on their opening possession of the game, including the previous three, while Denver has only scored one first-possession touchdown all season. The Broncos’ home-field advantage would be swiftly eroded if they got off to a sluggish start, since an increasingly enraged public is ready to boo the home side these days. Denver must hold the Washington attack in check, particularly early on, since Washington has won its only two games in which it has scored at least 23 points. Legwold, Jeff
Speculative prediction: Antonio Gibson of the Washington Redskins will have his first 100-yard rushing game of the season. He hasn’t rushed for more than 69 yards since Week 2, and Denver’s run defense is sixth in the league. Denver, on the other hand, has allowed 22nd-best yards per rush and 29th-best yards per game over the last three games. Taylor Heinicke, Washington’s quarterback, needs to be relieved of some of his responsibilities. ‘John Keim’
Teddy Bridgewater, the quarterback for the Denver Broncos, has thrown five interceptions in his previous three games after tossing none in his first four.
Washington Redskins | Denver Broncos Injuries
What to know in fantasy: Washington has allowed a tight end to score more than 10.5 fantasy points four times this season. There’s no shame in one of those cases involving Travis Kelce, but the other three names on that list are Robert Tonyan (16.3 points last weekend), Dawson Knox (14.9 in Week 3) and Jared Cook (10.6 in Week 1). Noah Fant, the tight end for the Denver Broncos, might have a great week. Check out the Week 8 rankings.

What to look for: In what may be the finest game of Week 8, expect a high-scoring battle. Dallas is averaging 34.2 points per game, while Minnesota is averaging 24.5 (14th), and with both teams boasting a plethora of high-end talent players, one club may easily win by 40 points. Both teams are coming off byes in Week 8, but the Cowboys are more banged up than the Vikings. Dallas believes its dominating offensive line can survive the NFL’s No. 1 pass-rush while quarterback Dak Prescott recovers from a calf injury. Courtney Cronin (Courtney Cronin)

Dallas CB Trevon Diggs will make it seven games in a row with an interception, according to a bold prediction. He’ll make NFL history when he does. In the first seven games of a season, no player has intercepted a pass. Kirk Cousins, the quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, has been intercepted in each of his previous four home games. In his career versus the Cowboys, he has thrown 17 touchdowns and five interceptions, but he has not been intercepted in two games since joining Minnesota. Todd Archer is a writer.
Prescott has four consecutive games with at least three touchdown passes, the greatest stretch in Cowboys history and tied for the most in the NFL this season with Patrick Mahomes. Since Andrew Luck’s eight-game streak in 2018, no quarterback has thrown three in five successive games.
Cowboys | Vikings Injuries
What to know for fantasy: Dalvin Cook, the Vikings’ running back, has gained at least 10 yards on 20 percent of his runs this season. Check out the Week 8 rankings.

Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET | ESPN Matchup rating: 48.9 | Over/Under: Kansas City -10 (52)
What to look out for: Can Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offensive line withstand the Giants’ pressure? Last week, the Chiefs struggled to deal with the Titans’ pass rush, as Tennessee only blitzed once in 44 dropbacks but harassed Mahomes on 18 of them. Keep an eye on Kansas City Chiefs left tackle Orlando Brown Jr., who has struggled against speed rushers this season. Adam Teicher’s remark
Travis Kelce, the Kansas City tight end, will have 150-plus yards receiving and two touchdowns, according to my bold prediction. This season, he has already surpassed 100 yards on two occasions. The Giants’ tight end defense has been mediocre at best, and they haven’t played someone like Kelce. Against them, Dalton Schultz had six receptions for 79 yards. It makes you wonder what Kelce is capable of. Jordan Raanan is a writer.
Mahomes has a 13-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio and an 86 percent completion rate this season when getting the ball out in under 2.5 seconds. When he takes longer, though, he has a 5-8 ratio and a 48% completion rate.
Giants | Chiefs Injuries
What to know in fantasy: A running back has scored over 16 fantasy points five times this season while facing the Giants. With Clyde Edwards-Helaire on injured reserve, Darrel Williams is expected to start for the Chiefs. Check out the Week 8 rankings.
Darrel Williams is expected to produce well in fantasy football this week, according to Matthew Berry, as the Chiefs look to rebound in Week 8.
