The Jaguars are coming off a 10-6 season and they have the opportunity to build on that momentum with an exciting new quarterback in Trevor Lawrence. However, there is one obstacle that could derail their plans before they even start: Urban Meyer’s Florida Gators.
The nfl ota 2021 is a concern for Urban Meyer and the Florida Gators. If the Jaguars can take advantage of this weakness, it could make or break Trevor Lawrence’s rookie season.
If one game is any indication, Trevor Lawrence and Urban Meyer will have a difficult first season with the Jacksonville Jaguars… Which implies that in 2021, that is precisely what people are afraid of right now.
The NFL preseason, unfortunately for the quarterback-coach combination, is a time for overreactions. Meyer is taking advantage of this, and his early responses to his team’s system may cause issues for Lawrence, the first overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft.
The Jaguars’ offense is already causing Urban Meyer worry.
2.The Jaguars trailed 16-0 after three quarters in a 23-13 defeat to the Browns on Saturday. In the first half, the Browns outgained the Jaguars 240-120. “Everything is concerning,” says HC Urban Meyer. It is my responsibility to be concerned…”

Even with his golden arm and beautiful hair, Lawrence couldn’t transform the Jaguars’ offense into anything approaching a respectable team right away.
In the first 30 minutes of their preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns, the Jaguars managed just 89 yards of offense. Lawrence began and threw for 71 yards on six of his nine attempts. In the Jaguars’ 23-13 defeat, the rookie also had two sacks for 12 yards.
Meyer didn’t exactly take the glass-half-full attitude while speaking with reporters after the defeat. Lawrence held the ball too long at times, according to the first-year head coach, for reasons he didn’t understand.
The Jaguars were penalized seven times and had many other mistakes, including a missed block by quarterback-turned-tight end Tim Tebow. Meyer was asked by a reporter whether the Jaguars’ early difficulties worried him, particularly after the starters failed to produce anything offensively.
“Concerning? According to ProFootballTalk, Meyer stated, “Everything is worrisome.” “It is my responsibility to be concerned.”
Meyer must be careful not to overcompensate in his attempt to improve the offense.

Preseason is a time for overreactions once again. Lawrence would be heralded as the next sure thing if he tossed two touchdowns in the opening. If the Browns intercepted him again on Saturday night, though, social media users would start using the dreaded “bust” term.
Meyer is right in his early worries, but he must realize that he is no longer in college. If Justin Fields made a poor read against Miami (Ohio) in September, he was likely to have learned from it by the time the Buckeyes faced Penn State, a much more difficult opponent, later that season.
Meyer must be patient and accept that the findings will not be available in the following several weeks. Even with Lawrence at quarterback, there is no such thing as immediate satisfaction in the NFL. The Jaguars are a year away from losing 15 consecutive games and, after a complete overhaul, are still not considered postseason candidates heading into the 2021 season.
Meyer’s worst option right now is to panic and attempt to hurry the outcomes. If Lawrence has been holding the ball for too long, now is the moment to correct the situation and work with him. Instead of dealing with these issues — and the resulting mental toll — in October, the rookie should go through his growing pains in the preseason and improve on those faults now.
Simply said, the Jaguars must take each day as it comes. Worrying excessively and attempting to squeeze square pegs into round and triangle-sized holes would doom Lawrence’s growth and confidence before the season even begins.
If Meyer is worried, he can always go to the trading market.

In the NFL, there is no such thing as immediate satisfaction. Meyer and Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke may always attempt to make a preseason splash if they want to get close.
There’s no assurance that the New Orleans Saints will retain wide receiver Michael Thomas, who has been plagued by injuries this season and has expressed dissatisfaction with the club. It’s also worth mentioning that the two-time first-team All-Pro was a member of Meyer’s Ohio State staff. The Jaguars have +400 chances (play $100, win $500) to have Thomas on the roster when the trade deadline comes on November 2nd, according to SportsLine.
The same may be said for other jobs. Meyer may be looking for a new offensive lineman or an older tight end. This isn’t college, where the Buckeyes’ roster was set in stone once the season started, barring any dismissals or transfers.
Lawrence and Meyer may face difficult times ahead, but at least they know they’re in it together. If the two never win a Super Bowl together, they’ll always remember a preseason opening when it seemed like the sky might collapse and destroy both of their aspirations.
